Water based fun is often the inspiration behind a Cornish holiday and Turn O’ Tide definitely ticks the boxes for this. It’s location perched overlooking Mounts Bay offers jaw dropping views and if you want a splash somewhere a little warmer, the private indoor swimming pool will be a very welcome touch.

In a quiet residential area, the hustle and bustle of Newlyn’s fishing port is only a 5 minute walk away, you’ll be watching the boats come and go from the serenity of Turn O’ Tide. With four bedrooms sleeping up to seven people this is the perfect home for a large family or group of friends to unwind. With space for everyone you won’t be treading on each others toes, there is plenty of outside space and inside you’ll be able to find your own perch with a view very easily.

The 10m heated indoor pool accessible from the main house will provide hours and hours of fun, relaxation or just a good place for your morning exercise. With a changing area adjacent, lockable doors to keep little ones out, and some inflatables for fun, this is likely to be a place you will spend a lot of time. The pool will be heated to a warm temperature, cleaned and checked prior to arrival.

The main accommodation features a large living dining area with a floor to ceiling picture window to gaze at the glorious sea views of St Michaels Mount, Penzance, and Newlyn harbour. With a large wooden dining table, HD TV and a gas fire this space is perfect for downtime. There is a play room adjacent with board games and the kitchen is easily accessed from here.

A fully equipped kitchen will ensure you’ll be cooking up a storm. Good knives, fridge/freezer, electric oven, hob and dishwasher are all here, along with lots of cutlery, utensils and crockery. There is also a smaller dining table in here, perfect for breakfasts.

The master bedroom has a double bed with crisp white linen, TV and great sea views. The second bedroom is a twin with sea views and the third bedroom is a further double bedroom to the rear of the property. The final bedroom is a single room that is light and airy with a day bed, garden views and a TV.

There is a shower room with wash basin, toilet and electric shower with a further WC with a separate entrance.

Outside in the pretty gardens there is a conservatory sun room, a warm space on sunny days with soft seating and pleasant views. The patio to the front has table and chairs and catches the sun for much of the day. There is a lawned section, plenty of shrubs, flowers and plants along with a handy shed for drying wetsuits and storing beach gear.

The driveway has space for three cars and you’ll need to either head up a set of outside steps to the main entrance or walk around the side of the building and access via the backdoor to encounter less steps.

Newlyn itself has become quite the destination with a fantastic school of art, independent cinema, the acclaimed Mackerel Sky restaurant and a fantastic choice of fishmongers. Not far away is Penzance, a larger town with galleries, antique shops and the Jubilee Pool which will have a geothermal pool opening in 2020.

The stunning village of Mousehole is a 30 minute walk away, it’s a historic fishing village with the most amazing Christmas lights display in December.

Further afield, Porthcurno, the Minack Theatre, Sennen Cove and Land’s End are all easy to reach, St Ives is 30 minutes away and St Michael’s Mount a 10-15 minute drive to the car park.

  • The driveway and side path are covered by CCTV surveillance. Internal areas, the swimming pool and the garden and patio are not covered.
  • The indoor pool is accessible internally via a lockable door or via an external lockable door. You are responsible for your guests access to the pool at all times
  • Guidance notes on the pool will be provided but please note it is not lifeguarded, swimming or using the pool with the cover on is incredibly dangerous and surrounding surfaces can be slippy when wet so no running whatsoever
  • The pool at it’s deepest is 1.5m
  • The pool has gentle steps to enter as well as a ladder at the deep end
    • Please note there are two entrances to the property. You can access the property to the rear via a gentle slope and one single external step and three internal steps to the kitchen. To enter the property via the front door there are 19 external steps followed by 1 internal step.
