PROPERTY SERVICES OPERATIVE

Ocean Holidays Cornwall is a growing holiday letting company offering high-quality stays across West Cornwall. We pride ourselves on exceptional guest service and the highest standards of property care.

As part of our continued growth, we are hiring for the role of Property Services Operative. This is a varied, hands-on position that plays a vital role in keeping our properties and operations running smoothly.

You will be involved in the day-to-day care and presentation of our holiday homes, working closely with our property services and housekeeping teams. The role is a mix of property-based tasks and work from our store and stockroom in Hayle.

A full, clean driving licence is essential for this role.

Key responsibilities

Property services & logistics

  • Driving the company van to deliver linen and cleaning supplies to properties across West Cornwall
  • Carrying and transporting linen bags (this is a physical role and involves stairs and lifting)
  • Assisting housekeepers on busy changeover days to ensure smooth operations, including some cleaning when required
  • Packing linen bags with accuracy and attention to quality

Stockroom & equipment

  • Monitoring linen and cleaning stock levels and placing orders as needed
  • Coordinating the storage, organisation and return of company equipment and supplies
  • Overseeing the Hayle store and stockroom, keeping it tidy, organised and well-maintained
  • Maintaining the upkeep of the company van, including fuel, mileage checks and cleanliness

Maintenance & property standards

  • Carrying out basic maintenance tasks in properties
  • Supporting the Property Services Supervisor with:
    • Regular property checks and pre-arrival inspections
    • Identifying and reporting maintenance issues or damage
    • Completing basic compliance checks and recording findings
    • Ensuring properties meet agreed presentation, health & safety and quality standards

Reporting structure

  • Reports to the Operations Manager
  • Works closely with and reports day-to-day to the Property Services Supervisor while in the field

About you

  • Practical, organised and reliable
  • Comfortable with physical work and being on the move
  • Good attention to detail and pride in doing a job well
  • Confident working independently and as part of a team
  • Happy to turn your hand to a variety of tasks, no two days are the same

Experience in property, housekeeping, facilities, logistics or maintenance is helpful, but not essential, attitude and reliability matter most.

Working pattern

This is a part-time role, working 3 days per week:

  • Wednesday
  • Friday
  • Saturday

Additional hours may be available on a flexible basis, particularly during busy periods or peak seasons.

We are also happy to discuss an annualised hours arrangement, with increased hours during school holidays to meet business needs and reduced hours in quieter periods. This would be balanced across the year to provide a set, consistent income.

Equipment & benefits

  • Company vehicle provided for work purposes
  • 28 days pro-rata holiday allowance
  • Hybrid working model (in-field, store-based and some remote tasks)
  • Opportunity to grow and develop within a supportive and expanding local company
